I. PURPOSEThe College Republican National Committee (CRNC) is committed to safeguarding members’ personally identifiable information or “personal information” from unauthorized use or disclosure. Personal information includes any information about you that is personally identifiable such as your name, address, email address, phone number, and any other information about you that is not otherwise publicly available. This Policy describes how personal information is used or disclosed and applies only to the use and collection of data collected by through the Websites and does not apply to any other data collected by Us offline. Please read this Policy carefully because by accessing and using the Websites you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to the terms and conditions of this Policy, please do not use our Websites. II. POLICYThis Privacy Policy (“Policy”) applies only to Websites controlled by the CRNC and where this Policy is posted (collectively, the “Websites”). As used in this Privacy Policy, “You” or “Your” refers to users of the Websites and “We” or “Us” refers to CRNC. This Policy is incorporated by reference into CRNC’s Terms of Use. Children under 13 - The Websites are not intended for use by persons under the age of 13. We will not knowingly collect information from visitors under the age of 13 and, in the event that We learn that a person under the age of 13 has provided Us with personally identifiable information, We will delete such personally identifiable information in compliance with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998. By submitting information to these Websites, You have indicated that You are at least 18 years old. What We Collect - The CRNC collects and maintains personal information when you visit our Websites, when you request information from the CRNC through the Websites, when you register on the Website, when you donate to the CRNC through the Website, and as part of servicing membership and donors. The CRNC uses personally identifiable information provided in the membership application to send State and Local publications, information about member benefits, special offers, educational resources and other relevant information. In addition, when you visit the Websites, the CRNC may collect and record information on our server logs from your browser, including your IP Address, cookie information, and/or the web page(s) you visit. Federal law requires us to obtain the following information if you choose to make a donation to the CRNC: name, mailing address, employer, occupation, and amount of contribution. For donations made by credit card through the Websites, the CRNC only uses your credit card information to process your transaction and does not retain any credit card information once the donation is processed. What We Share - It is not our policy to rent, sell, or share your personal information with nonaffiliated third parties except to provide products or services you have requested or when the CRNC has your permission. We generally restrict access to nonpublic personal information to the CRNC, the National Board, National Committee, State Chairs, and Committee members with a business reason to know this information, such as to provide you with services you have requested. We may from time to time cooperate through very carefully chosen partnerships with other professional organizations or centers of learning, to publications, information about special offers, educational resources and other information that we are not able to provide without the assistance of these carefully chosen partners. If you do not wish to have your personal information shared with third parties who are not involved with the fulfillment of the CRNC products or services that you have requested, please contact us by email or regular mail as specified in the Contact Us section below. The CRNC does not sell mailing lists (names and mailing addresses) or e-mail addresses to third parties. The chapter may be required by law enforcement or judicial authorities to provide information on individual members to the appropriate governmental authorities. In matters involving a danger to personal or public safety, illegal activities, or suspected fraud, the CRNC may voluntarily provide information to appropriate governmental authorities, when we believe in good faith that the law requires it. The CRNC reserves the right to transfer personal information we have collected about you if the CRNC is acquired by or merged with another organization, in the case of a sale of all or substantially all of the CRNC’s assets, or in the unlikely event of a bankruptcy. The CRNC may also use your personal information to customize the advertising and content you may see on the Websites and improve our products and services. In the event that the CRNC announces voluntary promotional programs, such as sweepstakes and contests, participation in these promotions may require you to share personal information with the CRNC. This information may be shared with external third parties for the purpose of the administration, operation, or fulfillment of the promotion. Subscribers who do not wish this information to be disclosed to third parties may decline participation in these optional promotions. The CRNC reserves the right to share certain data with our internal and external clients or service providers in aggregate form for auditing, marketing and other purposes. Because aggregated data is not associated with any particular person, the third parties with whom we share this information will not have access to your personal information. The CRNC may also analyze IP addresses of visitors to the Websites in the aggregate for purposes including system administration and the gathering of broad demographic information. Use of Cookies and Other Technologies – The CRNC may use cookies and other technologies, such as pixel tags, web beacons, and clear gifs, to personalize the Websites to your interests. A cookie is a text file placed on your hard disk by a web page server that is uniquely assigned to you and can only be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie. Although the CRNC does not currently display advertising on the Websites, at some point in the future, we may allow advertisers on the Websites to set and access cookies on your computer. Use of cookies by advertisers on the Websites is subject to the privacy policies of those advertisers and is not covered by this Policy. If you are not comfortable with the use of cookies on your computer, you may set your computer preferences to accept or decline cookies. If you choose to decline cookies, you may not be able to fully experience all features of the Websites. The CRNC may use web beacons to access cookies in connection with your use of the Websites or any e-mail correspondence we may send you. A web beacon is an electronic file stored in a web page that allows us to count visitors to our Websites and to recognize users by accessing cookies which help us personalize your experience when you visit the Websites. The CRNC may also use web beacons to conduct research on behalf of our partners and for auditing purposes. Security – The CRNC takes reasonable security measures to protect user information under our control against loss, misuse, or alteration. Except as otherwise stated in this Policy, access to your personal information is limited to only those employees and third parties with a specific need to retrieve this information. Independent contractors and outside companies who perform work for us are required to adhere to strict privacy standards through their contracts with us. The Websites may contain links to other Websites. Please be aware that the CRNC is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of third party Websites. The CRNC encourages users to be aware when they leave our Websites and to read the privacy statements of other Websites you visit. This Policy applies solely to information collected by our Websites. International Transfer of Information – If you are visiting from the European Union or other regions outside of the United States, please note that the United States may not have the same data protection laws as your country of residence. By providing your personal information to the CRNC, you consent to: (i) the use of your personal information for the uses described in this Policy; and (ii) the transfer of your personal information to the United States. Changes to this Policy – The CRNC reserves the right, at any time and without notice, to update or modify this Policy, the Websites, or any products or services offered in connection with the Websites by posting such change, update or modification on the Websites. Any such update or modification will be effective immediately upon posting. If the CRNC materially changes how it uses your personal information, the CRNC will notify you via e-mail.
